Friday 26th May - Assembly on the Sacrament of Confirmation
We were very privileged to have a special visitor in school today! Father Tom, from Holy Rood Parish, together with Mrs Hatherall, presented an assembly on the Sacrament of Confirmation to Key Stage 2. The children were so engaged, listened respectfully and asked questions to further their understanding of all the Sacraments. The children and staff pass on their thanks to both Mrs Hatherall, and Father Tom, for both organising this and making this a very special morning.
Hinduism Day - Wednesday 17th May
On Wednesday 17th May, Indri and Krishna, from Hinduism Education Services (HES) visited our school. The day consisted of workshops for all of the children across the school. Reception and Key Stage 1 listened to the ‘Rama and Sita’ story and learned how to greet each other, Years 3 and 4 learned about lifestyle, showing respect, and meditation. Finally Year 5, and those Year 6 not on the Residential, took part in discussions of Atman, Reincarnation, Karma, and Moksha. All the children enjoyed dressing up too! After school, our teachers took part in training on teaching Hinduism. The children learned a lot from this experience and we thank Indri and Krishna for visiting our school.
Speaking Volumes Book Grant
Holy Family Applied for a grant from the charity 'Speaking volumes' to further develop our collection of religious books. We were very lucky to be gifted with a grant to expand our selection of books for each class.
